If I'm being completely honest, I feel like this chapter was.....a noticeable step down from the previous ones.

I enjoyed the setup of the Brethren storyline, but the payoff felt extremely rushed and not really worth it at all, especially given how important the appearance of a character like Mercury should've been. I think if we were given more time with Mercury, it'd make the payoff of her being a Fury for Athena feel way more worthwhile. But, given we spend almost no time whatsoever with present day Mercury, and she doesn't really resemble the version from flashbacks anymore, it just....isn't there. This isn't helped by the fact that she does one thing during the showdown, and then immediately gets one-shot by Venus.

The Babylon subplot going absolutely nowhere felt unfortunate, being that that setup felt far more intriguing than what we actually got, though for now I'm just going to assume Babylon is probably Nixie, given she knew Zycris' name already.

Moreover, I think the Athena fight was a let down compared to previous fights, if only because the solution of "just take the shield" felt glaringly obvious, given he has the clear physical strength advantage. But.....Zycris never once actually tries that, nor does he try to feint, and instead immediately opts for brute force which feels.....a little bit like a disservice to how skilled he's meant to be by this point.

That being said, I enjoy what the plot is building to in regards to Axius, Nari, Irena, and Alura, as well as whatever Sirius is setting out to do. But.....the brief cuts to other characters isn't really enough to carry the Brethren plot being such a let down, imo.
